Designed and engineered in-house using advanced CAD technology, the Trailparts lever coupling combines a modern aesthetic with significant functional enhancements, updating a design that has remained largely unchanged for the past 30 years.
However, this isn't just about a more attractive coupling – one of the main design goals was to enhance safety, particularly in situations where the user might forget to engage the locking pin. The result is a substantial increase in the force required to disconnect the coupling from the towball, now exceeding 700kg – a significant improvement from the 80kg force of older models.
This advancement is achieved through adjustments to the ball socket and the lever’s geometry. These changes not only improve towball retention but also allow for a lighter, easier-to-operate lever spring. This makes the coupling user-friendly, reducing the risk of the lever springing shut and causing finger injuries.
